4worldlovers: G.S.F ACADEMY stands for GRAPPLING, STRIKING & FITNESS. We are a gym that primarily offers classes for modern martial arts - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). Apart from BJJ, we also offer Self Defense, Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, YOGA and Personal Training.

The word “jiu jitsu” derives from the Japanese “Jū” meaning “gentle” and “Jutsu” meaning “art”; essentially, jiu jitsu is the “gentle art”.

Jiu Jitsu is predominantly a ground-based martial art which primarily focuses on how to get dominant control over your partner, and how to effectively apply a submission. This differs from other forms of martial arts in that Jiu Jitsu does not incorporate any striking or kicking, the focus is on close contact grappling, chokes and joint-manipulation submission holds.

We follow the IBJJF belt promotion system. Belt are earned through the development of your own Jiu Jitsu skills and knowledge.

Jiu Jitsu also offers a mental workout. It is often referred to as human chess as you’re faced with the challenge of beating an opponent using limitless techniques, movements and submissions.

Gloves, shin pads & handwraps are provided to all members. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi rental is also available, all we ask for is HK$40 to cover the laundry fees.
